Water Cranes Now In Stock!

Yet another recent addition to our ever expanding range of detailing kits and accessories are these fantastic water cranes and columns in 00 gauge.

GWR Water Crane

GWR Water Crane

We have four different varieties, each one from one of the Big Four companies. Each kit comes with all the highly detailed accessories and parts necessary to construct the water crane or column from resin and white metal which requires assembly and painting to finish.

As we have used these kits ourselves on our own model railway layouts in the past it is always a good idea to remove any excess white metal parts (called flash) from the mouldings that has been left behind from the casting before starting to paint. A good base colour is always recommended first before applying the correct colour that you wish to model the item in.

Simple to piece together, and at a very good price, these kits are ideal for adding the necessary detail of a water crane or column to your 00 gauge layout if you model in the days of steam. You can see them in detail here on our website.

Watch this space as we will have more similar items soon as well as water cranes and columns in 0 gauge too in the near future…!

About North Western Models

At North Western Models we believe that it’s the detail that brings a model railway to life.

North Western Models was established in 2015 by Kevin Colley and Christopher Gore as an online model shop based in Stockport, Cheshire. Initially dealing with high quality detailing accessories and kits, North Western Models prides itself in serving the model railway community to promote the notion that detailing helps to bring a model railway to life.

Kevin and Christopher have a lifelong passion with railways in general and also with model railways. Between them, they have planned, built and exhibited a number of layouts in 00 and N gauge at various local model shows. Kevin and Christopher regularly attend a number of exhibitions each year, either trading as North Western Models or with one of their layouts which is currently on the exhibition circuit.
