Orders can be placed via the basket facility on this web-site and paid for by PayPal, or by contacting us using one of the methods listed in the ‘Contact us’ section.
Payment can be made to North Western Models by PayPal or Debit/Credit card, (or cash at an exhibition/show). Alternatively, we’d be happy to help by giving us a call should you wish to pay over the telephone using a valid debit or credit card.
P&P general principles:
We charge for P&P using our standard flat rate. The charge for P&P does increase depending on the size and weight of each additional item added to your basket. Most of our items are classed as ‘Small Shipping’, however, larger building kits, rolling stock and locomotives are classed as ‘Medium Shipping’ and ‘Large Shipping’ which will increase the price. Please check your total balance in your basket at the time of your checkout.
Orders will be dispatched as soon as cleared funds are in our account.
Our standard P&P rates for the UK are assigned to the weight and/or size of each individual item and are clearly displayed at the checkout stage. Should we need to increase or reduce the cost of postage then we will contact the customer prior to dispatching items.
Wherever possible, we always strive to dispatch orders on the same day if ordered before 3pm. Should orders arrive later than 3pm then we will aim to dispatch the following day. All orders are dispatched by Second Class delivery with exceptional items, such as expensive items or where specifically requested, dispatched by First Class recorded delivery.

We have now made it possible for you to buy some items on back order, this means that if an item is currently out of stock you can still buy it, just add the product quantity to your basket. You pay for these items at the time you place the order, and when the items arrive with us we will send them out to you straight away. If your basket is a mix of in stock and back ordered items we are happy to hold on to your order to wait for the back ordered items to come in or we can send it out as 2 seperate parcels, just let us know in the delivery notes section when you order. Contacting us and refunds:
If you need to contact us then please do so in a respectful manor, if its regarding an order have your order number available. If you are wanting more information on an item that is on back order within your main order, then we can supply you with the best information as to the possible delivery times. However if you do not wish to wait kindly ask us to refund you for the item, do not under any circumstances send threatening or abusive emails or phone messages, we will NOT tollerate it and you may forfeit any refund or future orders with us. We reserve the right to keep records of returns by customers for the purpose of detecting any fraudulent or excessive returns. If we believe this is happening or if it might, we reserve the right to refuse to supply such customers.
Whilst very few of the items we sell are inherently dangerous, they should still be treated with respect and not abused. Given that many items which we sell are delicate, we advise that you handle them carefully and restrict children’s access to them. Hints, tips and suggestions as to how to get the best from our products can be found on our web-site or from the product assembly sheets often supplied with most of the kit built items.
In the event of a dispute, English law and jurisdiction applies.
Any products shown in situ on our own model railways and dioramas are rightfully owned by North Western Models and should not be copied, shared, changed or used elsewhere without the prior consent of their original owners. Products images from suppliers have been used with permission.
